Week Six, Day Five

Friday's post is late this week because Mom, Dad and I took a road trip on Friday afternoon to New Hampshire for my Uncle Adam and Aunt Valerie's wedding! Although I did not attend the ceremony or reception, I did go to the brunch the next day at my Aunt Jessica's and Uncle Mike's house. I was very excited to go to brunch, although I would have been very happy to participate in the dinner and dancing at the reception.

I made myself right at home at my Aunt Jess and Uncle Mike's house. Mom, Dad and I stayed with them for the weekend as did my Uncle Jared and Aunt Laurie and I was thrilled to have lots of company and room to run around.

When we got back to NY today, I sent Dad to check on the apartment for me. I was too tired from my trip to go. On the side of the kitchen where the sink and dishwasher will be, the backsplash is now complete!

On the other side, the backsplash is up on two out of three walls in the stove area.

Here's the slate threshold, which is now installed.

While I took an evening nap, Mom and Dad picked out cabinet pulls, new kitchen light options and other finishing details. Dad also planned his drive out to Queens early tomorrow morning before work to meet with the granite fabricator. This week, most, if not all, of the work should be done. We can't wait to see the apartment completed!
