Week Five, Day Five

Friday's work more than made up for Thursday's uneventfulness! We were expecting the appliances to be delivered on Friday, and they were right on schedule. Here they are sitting in the middle of the living room. Look how tall the refrigerator is! How's a short guy like me going to reach the top shelf?

Here' s my new GE Profile stove. I'm going to have some great times with you, stove.

The maple floors and baseboards throughout the apartment were finished, the nail holes filled, and the baseboards caulked where they meet the wall. Most exciting, though, was that most of the cabinets were delivered, and the butler's pantry cabinets were installed!

This is a close-up of the side of the butler's pantry. It's also what the cabinet doors will look like. They're shaker-style, painted white in a low-gloss sprayed finish.

The space in the bottom of this butler's pantry base cabinet is for a drawer that will be hidden behind the baseboard.

Here are the kitchen base cabinets. The one on the bottom will be installed roughly where it is, and the one on the top is the sink base cabinet and goes on the right (the dishwasher will be in between the two base cabinets).

The base cabinet to the left of the stove was installed as well. A narrow stack of drawers will be on the right of the stove, and then the refrigerator.

Next week the cabinet installation will continue, the wall cabinets and medicine cabinet should be delivered and installed and hopefully the kitchen and bathroom, aside from kitchen counter tops and back splash, will be finished!
