Week Six, Day Two

Another productive day! Mom and Dad met with the contractor this morning and went over the granite counter top template and the details of where the faucet, soap dispenser and water filter faucet are going to be. Mom found it a bit boring, but Dad is very interested in the faucet placement. I just want to make sure I can reach the water filter so that I can fill my bowl.

After the meeting, the contractors must have went right to work because lots was done today. First, they installed the marble backsplash in the butler's pantry area.

Here's the tile wet saw that they used to cut the backsplash. Dad really likes it. I think its a little scary looking.

The contractors also brought all of the remaining kitchen upper cabinets into the apartment and installed them on one side of the kitchen. These are the cabinets that will be above the stove. The cutout is where the microwave will go.

Next to it is the refrigerator enclosure that goes around the extra-tall refrigerator. Note the shaker panel on the side of the enclosure. This was a last minute decision, but I am glad we choose it. The backsplash will go in back of the stove and on the sides up to where the shaker panel is.

In less exciting news, Dad figured out tonight that the kitchen chandelier will not fit in the kitchen. It's too bad, but he and Mom are going to see if it can be installed over the dining table instead. I'll keep my paws crossed!
