Week Six, Day Four

Mom and Dad went to the apartment this morning to look at the slate threshold that will be installed between the kitchen slate floors and the hallway maple floors. The threshold that the contractors picked up matches the slate well and will be installed today. (You can see the corner of the threshold sitting on the cabinets in the picture below). The backsplash will also be finished today, and the baseboards will be painted.

The shelves were placed in the cabinets and the drawers and pull-outs were installed yesterday. Also, the rest of the fixtures, like the kitchen faucet and soap dispenser, were delivered to the apartment.

Early Monday morning Dad is going out to the granite counter top fabricator to approve the layout of the templates on the granite slab. Should be fun for him, but I'll probably still be sleeping.

As week six of construction draws to a close, the contractor is optimistic that we will be finishing up soon.
