Week Five, Day One

More bathroom tiling today. The bathroom is now tiled up to the ceiling on two and a half walls. We hope that tomorrow will be the last day of bathroom tiling, and then it can be grouted and the medicine cabinet, vanity, toilet, shower doors and light fixture installed.

Also, maple flooring was put down in the living room closet today and the baseboards went in the bedroom and living room closets. They were able to recess the closet sliding door track into the flooring, which is a nice detail. I asked Dad if we can recess my food and water bowls, but he didn't think it was a good idea. Whatever.

As soon as they finish the bathroom tile, they can remove the wet saw from the living room and start on the flooring in there too. I would prefer they leave it there, though. That way, if the floor somehow gets wet, we can blame the saw and not me. Mom says I have to be very careful not to miss the pee pad with my new floors. We will see.

Tonight we also decided on the paint for the baseboards, the granite edge profile (1/8" pencil edge) and a few other details. I wanted to play toys but Mom and Dad were busy examining the granite counters in my temporary home for inspiration. Now that I am done blogging for the night and my toys can come out of their basket, I will say goodnight.

  1. GORGEOUS stuff happening there! I'm glad you commented and led me to your blog, I'll follow it!

The dog is cracking me up. Ours is horrified that these men just keep walking right into the house and he's not supposed to bark at them. What are we, crazy?
